I got an engraving of the mayor surrounded by purring maggots and looking terrifed.

The best part, it was in his room next to his bed.

My favorite, I installed some cages with purring maggots in them around him and he DIDN'T MOVE.

On the wall there is a finely-designed image of a wagon. The wagon is cringing.

Ah yes the good old scuttling of the wagon, an epic event that must be recorded for all times. Bonus points if you can get it to show up an artifact.

This is a masterful image of your FPS and the HFS. The HFS is committing a depraved act on your FPS.

I once found an engraving my main engraver did of himself engraving another engraving.  Curious, I hunted said engraving down.  It was of the same engraver engraving ANOTHER image.  That one was (surprise) of him engraving ANOTHER image.  There were about 5 levels of recursive engravings of this one Dwarf engraving himself engraving.  His last name (Constructamused) is highly fitting as a result.  I may have to rename his profession to Narcissist.

"The Prophecy of Prophets", a finely designed image of a cow.
"The Amazing Seduction", an image of a cow.
"The Snots of Honor", a finely designed image of two cows.
My engraver seems to have an unhealthy obsession with cows...

Not so much weird, I just think my engravers were incredibly sadistic. My first mayor absolutely hated lizards. So on two walls of his bedroom, the engravers engraved lizards. On a third wall, they did an engraving of the mayor surrounded by lizards.

That last engraving became so popular that they started engraving pictures of it being engraved. Then one of those pictures became so popular that my new dining room is covered in pictures of a dwarf engraving a picture of a dwarf engraving the original picture.

Dwarves are incredibly perverse and sadistic.

I get these strange engravings that I'm pretty sure are a bug, they usually go something like this:

"Engraved on the wall is a masterfully designed image of    the dog.    is falling. This engraving relates to the killing of    the dog in Boatfliers in the summer of 220."

"is falling" can be "is in a fetal position" or "is burning" or any number of other horrible things. But it's always a space where the name should be, and then "the dog".

I do slaughter puppies by the hundreds for food, so maybe that's what this is about, not sure.

Very strange.

DarkDragon - it's when a hostile thing kills wild animal/tame animal without name during combat.

If you turn an option in init.txt, you will see whole history behind the event, and that surely will be someone hostile killing the poor animal.
