To speed up a clip in WMM:

- Import your video.

- Drag it onto the storyboard.

- Go to "View video effects." Find the "Speed up, Double" option, right-click on it, and add it to your storyboard.

- Your video should now be at x200 speed. If you want to make a clip go faster, just reapply the effect.

Hope that helps you.

-EDIT: The video in my example is an .AVI file, and I altered it just fine, jarathor.

Ah, I believe I see the problem - I've got the Windows Live Movie Maker, and it has a completely different interface - the only video effects the Live version gives are simple filters, and while there is a 'duration' option, it is greyed out when I try to use it. Is there a way to get the XP version on my Windows 7 computer? Last time I checked, it looked like was only downloadable in an XP service pack. Thanks for the help if I can get my hands on that version though!

EDIT: I think I've got it now; thanks for the help Grimith!

What I'm using isn't actually an XP version. Not long after I got my Asus laptop (with Windows 7) back in October, I found this. It's the same version I have, and it should work fine for you.

-EDIT: Not a problem, chief. I didn't notice your edit before I made my post, alas. =P

Yeah, that's the one I ended up grabbing - and it's working magnificently. I'm sure everybody will enjoy the fruits of my labors. It's nothing earth-shattering, but hopefully it'll be enoyable. I'll upload the video tonight.

EDIT: And here it is! The essential failing montage for this series:

Hope you guys like it, I had fun making it.

Through fortunate timing and youtube's related links, I actually managed to watch that montage before you posted it. ;D

Taaank Suuuit!
The Tank Suit brought me only sorrow and death. Of course, this being Star Zoo, that's the norm. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Offhand: I enjoyed Episode 4. Oh, excuse me, I mean "Epsisode 4." Oh-ho-ho! (/joke) =P
Ah-durr. =p
For the record, that's fixed now.

Haha, how fortuitous.

I'm going to try to do a WW1 Medic video tonight as well, since I can start and finish that with the time I have right now, instead of an LCS LP which I'd want to keep playing it until dawn.

EDIT: Alright, quick little question - apparently, the montage video has been flagged as containing copyrighted material because of the song Rubber Biscuit - although according to the Internet Archive, the song was licensed under the Public Domain. Is there any way I can find out who owns the rights to the song?

EDIT2: Well, it turns out that WMG's (who apparently own the copyright) policy on this is to let the video stay up but to have ads appear underneath, so it isn't a huge deal - if their policy changes, I'll just change the song.

There's no way you're completing this game. No way no way. It's just way too difficult and way too random.

Wow..that game is nuts!

You should do Kosovo Survivor and do horrible screams in the background whenever the AI blows itself up :D

I really enjoyed your WWI Medic "Epsiode."

...Oh-ho-ho-HO!

No, but seriously, if you were too busy trying not to die in trench warfare, I get it. It's cool. I'm here for you as your friend, I swear!

Wow, I'm just failing at typing all over the place, aren't I?
Anyway, since I didn't post a link to "Let's Play WWI Medic: Epsiode [sic] the First," here it is!

What's Kosovo Survivor? I can't seem to find it on the web, unless I'm missing a reference to something.

It's actually "Kosovo Karnage", and you can find it in the Curses Arcade (alongside Star Zoo, Corin's, etc.)

It's... almost as hard as Star Zoo? I don't think the player is meant to win

This game would make another short LP that I can whip together - I'll see what happens.
