prayer of the refugee by rise against sounds quite like a story about DF, imagine it told to a young dwarf as they leave the mountain home.

Jesus there's some cheeseyness in here!

I listen to a lot of classical hindustani and persian, so I guess I have to imagine quite exotic dwarves.

I like listening to Classical music when I play games of this nature. Something about Vivaldi...

Wait... Vivaldi?????

I thoroughly apologize for resurrecting this crusty dead ancient thread, but I just had to comment. Seriously, I hope nobody is building their fortress to fucking Vivaldi!

Choose something grand, like Mahler or Webern... or even Wagner.

As much as it pains me to say this (as an early music person), I have to agree.  Vivaldi doesn't really fit the DF mold.  However, one shouldn't rule out all Baroque (not classical :D) or even renaissance music.

Some that immediately pop to mind.
