I'm curious what the barely conscious ai wrote about.
Well that went better than expected.  He went nuts and punched a rabbit to death, then the dogs and the whole dining hall ripped him to shreds.

I just hope if artifacts ever get programmed with any other bonuses that being very valuable and deadly (if a weapon), being fractal will be among those bonuses (even if only on a random basis).

Given the mention of "plus-to-damage" and "plus-to-value," what exactly would a fractal-bonus be? Extra extra?

Hmmm a fractal in real life would be an interesting concept. Since it would stretch infinitely down in detail you think it would also be infinite in mass since, despite being unimaginably small, the details are infinite. So it would be more like

Urist McMandelbrot has completed a construction!

Your fortress has collapsed into a singularity!

Or, if you want to do something more fun

Urist McLangford has completed a Mysterious construction!

So, what you're saying is, a true, real life fractal would be grounds for a /0?

Think of it like Zeno's arrow paradox.  If the mass of the first component of the fractal is 0.5 and its sub-component is 0.25, etc - in other words half of the original mass each time - you are adding up an infinite series which starts 0.5, 0.25, 0.125, 0.0625,...  In that instance the mass would never reach 1, although it would continue to approach it with every additional term to the sum.

EDIT - a link is probably more useful.

By the maths of geometric sequences, assuming each part was half the mass of the one before, and the first part weighed 1 kilo, it would weigh 2 kilos in total.

You'd also end up with an infinit surface and as a result an infinit amount of surface energy. Since mass and energy are interchangable, according to Einstein, you still end up with infinit mass.

You'd also end up with details on a subsubatomic scale, raising the question of what the details are made of.
