Take away his pointy ears, give him a beard, and I might've thought he was a dwarf.

Too many words for a dwarf. A dwarf would have at most made some one-liner with a "fall" pun and pushed him off. Let the dirty hippies keep their words.

Maybe he just "likes intellectual discussion" or doesn't have enough chances to show off how he is a legendary speaker.
