Robert attempts to make a stretcher for Eleanor, but it seems that he has no needles and thread to do so, but it seems that the time he spent trying to make a stretcher was enough to have the PhysRejuv serum to partially take effect; Eleanor can walk better, but she's reduced to a quick limp. Mahoney and Maxwell return, they tell him that the blood rain has started up again, and that the lightning doesn't look too friendly; they suggest that they should camp here for the night. They chat a bit quietly with Eleanor, and you pick up pieces of their conversation as you smoke, offering some to the others. Eleanor and Mahoney accept, but Maxwell declines. Eleanor states that she was supposed to drop the SpecOps troops that she was ferrying at the hospital, as several VIPs were there at the time. That firestorm had occured at around the same time all across the globe. After that, strange anomalies began to spawn the creatures, which had been given the nickname 'Ghoul'. Eleanor has encountered different varieties, including a scarily human-like one. They began to assault large populaces, with devastating losses being reported around the globe. Already, people were crying Apocalypse, and mass suicides were common, even more so than the bands of pistol-toting militias that went around, trying to (unsuccessfully) combat the Ghouls. There are safe zones, including most populated cities; but they aren't as safe as the military bases in Eleanor's opinion.
