Ah, the D-B menu... wish I had discovered that a year or two ago, instead of wearing out my keyboard and sanity with "arrow, scroll, dump, arrow, scroll, dump, repeat..."

And the stocks list. That can help too.

Both of those methods are wonderful blessings that we should thank Toady for by building a shrine to him.

I have my suspicions that there are bay 12ers who have already tried to/done so. :P

I'm curious what the barely conscious ai wrote about.
Well that went better than expected.  He went nuts and punched a rabbit to death, then the dogs and the whole dining hall ripped him to shreds.

I want an easy way to melt all narrow/large metal objects and dump all narrow/large other items.

I advise a magma chamber at the front of your fortress. Goblins/elves walk in, the military kills them, the military leaves, then the chamber gets locked and flooded with magma. The useless large rope reed robes will be gone, leaving only the precious metal.

I usually cover a region of dead goblins with reclaim, then dump, then melt.  The melt cancels the dump, so all you have to do by hand is un-dump corpses if you want to save them, or un-melt any weapons or shields worth using.
