DF 2010 Graphic Sets
« on: April 01, 2010, 10:28:36 am »

Please post links to your graphic sets here, I will edit them in to this post.

These are all uploads of games with the graphics set already integrated, so you don't have to do any work:

Mayday with no blank spaces (except for new creatures) thanks to Lemunde <- Recommended

http://rapidshare.com/files/371089258/DF2010_Mayday_and_Lemunde.rar

-Terrain and old creatures are Mayday style
-Presumably, new creatures (e.g. weird cave monster things) are just ASCII
-The blank spaces from the other Mayday attempts are gone
-It doesn't look quite as good as the newer styles but never mind
-It's the best attempt so far

Phoebus DF2010 graphic set[/b]

Graphic Set only, manual installation required :
http://solidfiles.com/d/0CZd

Full Package preinstalled w/ DFv0.31.01 :
http://solidfiles.com/d/luR5

- custom tileset with a mineral chart, nice walls and alot more
- requires updated raws
- also includes graphic tiles for most units in the game.
- I haven't personally tried it, but Phoebus has a thread going in the mods subforum

My fiddle with RantingRodent's set:

http://rapidshare.com/files/370767508/DF2010_with_OldRantingRodent.rar

- Terrain is RantingRodent style
- Dwarves seem to be some weird version of the example dwarf version
- Creatures are just ASCII characters
- I was fiddling with the tile sizes and resolution in the init file, so you may want to change them, a guide is given on how to do that here: http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/DF2010:Tileset

I expect someone else with a bit more know how could make something much better!

Mayday's tileset that someone else upped and is now on the wiki:

http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/DF2010:Tileset

- Terrain and Dwarf are mayday style
- It is missing several characters, including e, 1, 7, etc...

That link doesn't seem to want to work for me.

Edit: HAHA DISREGARD THAT it does work after a refresh.

I attempted to get Mayday's set to work with no luck. If anyone can get it going I will love them.

I've had some luck with RantingRodent's set though, but I haven't had time to test it much to see if it all works, here's an upload of the game using the RantingRodent set:

http://rapidshare.com/files/370767508/DF2010_with_OldRantingRodent.rar

YOU ARE AWESOME!

Thanks for that. 25 mins of screwing around with the the old tileset and 2010, and I could get the game to launch, but the text was completely whacked. Much obliged!

Mayday's got updated, or atleast it works.
http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/DF2010:Tileset

Some of the images seem to be missing. The page says to Change maydayMIX.bmp to mayday.bmp to fix missing letters, but I cant find maydayMIX.bmp

Any ideas?

I presume it's the same problem that I had with RantingRodent's where none of the creature's tiles were working, or perhaps some creatures just do not yet have pictures created for them yet. I'll try the Mayday version now and check.

DFdir\data\art\maydayMIX.bmp

Seems like a lot of characters aren't matching up either. Or at least, I ran the arena and everything was default characters.

I Changed the maydayMIX.bmp file, but DF still refuses to work for me. If I click full-screen mode, it gives me an error and says it is switching to windowed mode. Then the screen flashes for a moment and my computer locks up. My errorlog file has
Quote
*** Error(s) found in the file "raw/graphics/graphics_example.txt"
Unrecognized Creature Texture Token: GUARD
Unrecognized Creature Texture Token: ROYALGUARD
repeated about a quadrillion times, then it says
Quote
*** Error(s) finalizing the translation DWARF
Unrecognized word token: PLAYaFUN
Unrecognized word token: PLAYaPERFORM
etc. It also lists similar things for other languages.

Same trouble here, lots of things missing, makes things very difficult.
