In the Data/ Art folder delete mayday.bmp and rename maydayMIX.bmp to mayday.bmp to fix missing letters.

There are still a lot of characters missing / blank spaces unfortunately :(

I tried that and its missing the E's and some other characters. Haven't checked whether te arena crashes or not.

I changed the init thing to have it use maydayMAX, which appears to work.

Edit: It seems to be missing one of the wall corner pieces, but otherwise looks okay. Arena works okay and doesn't crash.

Spoke too soon, its still messed up.

Please post links to your graphic sets here

I attempted to get Mayday's set to work with no luck. If anyone can get it going I will love them.

I've had some luck with RantingRodent's set though, but I haven't had time to test it much to see if it all works, here's an upload of the game using the RantingRodent set:

http://rapidshare.com/files/370767508/DF2010_with_OldRantingRodent.rar

I'm using this on a computer with resolution 1280x800 and whenever i run DF windowed, it gets horribly squished looking. What kind of settings should I change in the init?

EDIT: I got it to look good now. Changed the grid setting things to 80:25 as opposed to 80:70. I also changed the graphics dimentions to match my computers resolution.

No idea. I wish I could get this fixed. Too bad toady didn't test with graphics sets to be sure that they might work.

The only graphics that work for me are the ones in the art folder, nothing from the raw/graphics folders.

Seems to be that way for everyone?

In order to improve the universe's frame rate, we must all throw rocks into volcanoes and then do absolutely nothing, worldwide, for a week, to take pressure off pathfinding.
or maybe throw them into the large hadron collider to atom-smash them instead.
Not to mention to throw all available animals into tiny pits.

@madjoe: Supposedly the grid should be 80:50.

MY problem is that I want to run it fullscreen and it gives me and error at the start, ("mode switch failed") and turns to windowed; issue is that the windowed more isn't squished but it isn't centered properly so the top half of the screen is missing...

Just checked in arena and it messes all the raw graphics ones up as well.

I think I'll stick with the vanilla graphics.

I had the problem with creatures and the like not showing up.

For me it was because I generated a world + embarked before I installed the graphics - I copy pasted them over so I wouldn't have to do it again.

If you did this then delete it and regen, this worked for me and I am seeing all the graphics fine now.

Well I tried going back to ASCII, I mean I used to use it and grew up on ADOM and Angband... But I can't.  ::) So thanks for the Mayday port! I have only had a quick blast in Adventure mode but it seems to work.

One thing though. I know that a lot of people hate it but I love the tile background colours Mayday introduced into his recent releases. Is there any way of importing those to the new version?

Does anybody know how to get the vanilla graphics to work at these dimensions as this is what I'm used to and would rather use:
[GRAPHICS:YES]
[GRAPHICS_WINDOWEDX:1280]
[GRAPHICS_WINDOWEDY:800]
[GRAPHICS_FULLSCREENX:1680]
[GRAPHICS_FULLSCREENY:1050]
[GRAPHICS_BLACK_SPACE:YES]

[GRID:80:50]
[FULLGRID:105:65]

I play in windowed mode though, but I want to know if I can get it to this for vanilla. Without it bieng all stretched out of poportion anyway.

@Swifteddy: I'll try that.

Start window mode, load game, go full screen, press ok, go window mode again.
