So guys, DF2010 is here, and I'd like to know... what was your first kill in DF2010 Adventurer mode?
Mine was

You Pinch the Cougar's head with your left hand!

Big named Hydra. (Genned a 2000 year world, so every mega or semi-mega has hundreds of kills to their names)

The short version:

Hydra tears up your meat shield!
You strike off the Hydra's third head.
Hydra rips your meat shield in half!
You strike off the Hydra's seventh head.
Hydra decapitates your other meat shield!
You strike the Hydra's lower body!, the axe is stuck!
You twist the axe! Hydra dies of blood loss.

My first kill wasn't that epic, I just beat a beak dog to death with a warhammer. I killed a dragon later though.

A giant toad, ominously enough. I punched it to death with my Accomplished Biter dwarf.

I found a religion that worships fish, and promptly stabbed their "Exalted Ape" high-priest-man to death. Of course, I was curb-stomped and pincushioned immediately after, but it was totally awesome as a first kill.

I killed an elven bowelf by grabbing his bow with both hands, beating him with it and then strangling them. I the slaughtered the rest of the village.

I killed a female giant that had been raiding a some village for a long time. I think her kill count was something like 300.

She pulled the glove off my right hand (I somehow kept hold of my weapon), but then I got lucky and slashed out both her eyes with the second blow.

Unfortunately, her boyfriend found me when I was almost to the surface and broke both my arms (death soon followed).

A Cyclops!  ;D

Though I'm not sure how. It was winning. I was a crumpled heap on the floor, vomiting and unconscious, When it just dropped dead.
It may have bled out, I got a lucky hit in early in the fight and twisted the blade.

Mine was a dragon boasting like 300 kills during worldgen. He lived on top of a hill with lots of trinkets lying around that he stole. He breathed fire at me, but I  ran sideways while still closing at him. When I was upclose he breathed fire again, but I blocked it with my shield. He wasn't very tough to beat, just hit him with the sword until he died from bloodloss.

Also, is it me, or ambushes are non-existent in this version?

I was playing as an adventurer named Batman.

A human animal dissector made the mistake of mentioning my parents in conversation. He was the first one to fall.

Four human guards, a child (whoops) and innumerable peasants later I left that town, and promptly fell into a pond. I had forgotten to take a rank of swimmer.

RIP, Batman.

I killed a wolf. Boring, yeah.
But then I killed a hydra without taking any hits, which was actually kind of funny.
