I'd like to know which direction to take with the ground tile(s), so I'm starting a poll.

Which ground tiles do you prefer, left (with patterns) or right (flat)?

More detailed is generally better. :)

Question: Why are my capital letters and spaces showing up as random creature tiles? I've checked the tileset, and the letters are clearly there, they're just not showing up, and garbage is there in its place.

Same thing here. IIRC, I noticed capital H's and E's being replaced by what looks like goblin bowman and blowgunners

Also, The game seems to cut off a bit of the right-side of the screen

It does that after you generate a world. If you restart DF it fixes the problem.
I'm investigating the problem, but can't find anything. If I remove the goblin file the corrupted image is being replaced by something else.

This set is really great! Thanks! However, only miners are showing up graphically in my install. All other dwarves are only colored differently. Any idea why this is?

Edit: Actually, the doctors are also showing up correctly.

Aerys, that's a strange bug.

I'm currently working on fixing possible corruption/compatibility problems with some graphic sets. (The Elves, Kobolds, Medics, Large River & Mountain sets are ok, but the others (Animals, Dwarves, Humans, Goblins, Monsters & Subterranean) seem to occasionally cause problems.)
A screenshot of your current situation would help.

Edit.: All the unit packs with small BMPs are not causing problems, but any single unit packs with a large BMPs is causing problems.

The miner and the medic show up, but the others are just colors associated with their jobs.

You patched over a previous installation using the patching module, but an example tileset already comes with the game.
That miner is from the example unit set. That unit set conflicts with the "dwarves" unit set from my pack and prevents them from ever being displayed.
Erase the files named "graphics_example.txt" from your base directory and your savegames. You should find them in /raw/graphics/
I'm going to add a empty "graphics_example.txt" to my next patch to prevent that problem.

What's your screen resolution?

In your init.txt, what are your settings for:
[GRAPHICS_WINDOWEDX:XXX]
[GRAPHICS_WINDOWEDY:XXX]
[GRAPHICS_FULLSCREENX:XXX]
[GRAPHICS_FULLSCREENY:XXX]
[GRID:XX:XX]
and
[FULLGRID:XX:XX]
?

Thanks so much!
You are welcome! :)

I'll have to get the monitor specs from my friend (I think his monitor is 1580x826. What should he change the the settings to?).

Don't ask me why he doesn't register on the forums to ask this stuff himself.

Is he playing full screen? And did he edit the init.txt file?
