I'm mostly a Lower Forumite, so the first I knew was when the forums crashed, burning like the beards of a thousand bear-soaked dwarves, into the pit of 404, 403, 402, and x-something-or-other. Also lost connection to the server like, five times.

When the forum was half down and the other half ultra slow, I knew the version had been released and that people DLing it had broken the site.

I woke up at about 9:00 A.M. Realizing DF 2010 comes out today! I skipped a shower and went straight to the computer.
The main page was down, so was the fourms, I realized the Wiki also has a download link so I went there and downloaded it at around 9:10 A.M. ish.

Went on /tg/. First thread is "OMG DWARF FORTRESSSSS".

I'm like  :o  and opened the thread, JUST IN CASE. Lo and behold, there were screenshots galore, so I spent the next half an hour trying desperately to download DF 31.01 XD

I was refreshing dev log as per usual when site became unresponsive.  I was curious as to whether this was because new version was being uploaded. Grabbed it as soon as the site came back up, 5 minutes later internet explodes and tubes are clogged :D

On thursday night (Southern Hemisphere) I decide to check out the forums. "Oh," I say "They are down." Go to check dev. log "What? That is down too?" go to /tg/ top thread on page 'DF IS OUT!'

I find a working mirror and download the shit out of it.

Someone on an IRC chat I go on was complaining about his biome, so I looked up the Region page on the wiki, for reference (since it had been so long since i'd done anything with DF)

It redirected me to "40d:Region" - 40d as opposed to what, I wondered.

Totaku mentioned to me that the new version appears to be out, but it looks like an April Fool's joke.

We both checked it out just in case.

I was checking devlog each 3-4 hours. Finished some 1st-april business at some of my own sites, went to check devlog, found that server takes ages to load and figured it must be a release.

I have an RSS of the devlog on my homepage. It then took me ages to get the download working. :(
