body parts means butcher somthing quick, learnt that from a 7 yearold wanting them.

When i had the rock bar problem the guy got some wood immediately, then asked for body parts and rock bars, not know what to do as i had loads of rock, rock blocks, and most of the ores and bars in the game i just got him his body parts and on recieving then went and got a steel bar from my stockpile.

I have a metalcrafter in a fey mood at the moment, he's demanding rock bars and body parts. He went and got himself a copper bar, which is presumably the rock bar he's on about, but he too is refusing to get any body parts, despite the fact I have loads of bones, just sat in a refuse stockpile taking up space.

Maybe dwarves still want either bones or shells (but not both), they just call them both by the same name now? I don't have any shells at all (no fish in any of my water sources), so if he only wants shells, that would explain it.

It's because he wants shells.

If you're looking for a class of something, check to see how it's stockpiled.

Coke, Charcoal and soap are all "rock bars"

Right now, when you look at the "Metal Blocks" section in the stockpiles, you'll also notice every type of gem and stone listed in that dropdown menu. Enabling "Rock Blocks" and nothing else, for example, will not cause the dwarves to bring anything to the stockpile, because for example Limestone Blocks count as Metal Blocks:Limestone in the stockpiles. Presumably bars are having the same issue, based on the comment by lordofhyphens.

I think stockpile logic is just all jacked up because of the transition to 31.x
