Removing Clothing in 34.06
« on: March 24, 2012, 09:48:56 pm »

So I removed clothing, removed the CLOTHING tags and such, however, my humans still receive a negative though. Anyone know how to remove their negative thoughts?

I just realized i have the same problem with the pony mod... the exclusion of the [clothing] tag should really stop this from happening...

Cant you make one piece of clothing that essentially covers the entire body, just so to avoid the negative thoughts ?

i think they require their bits covered by specifically pants and shoes.. i have dresses and robes that have 100% coverage, but it doesn't seem to help

That means either lag or angry dwarves ? I mean, even if they clean their clutter, which seems to be fixed, you still need about 7 clothing items for each dwarf. 200 dwarves, plus dead caravans... well, I will certainly remove the clothing from invaders and allies then...

Yeah, even UP:MAX and LB:MAX doesn't do anything  :-\

I suppose it's a bug.

Not necessarily a bug, I guess the thoughts are generated by what bodypart the item is worn on. Guess you need one item on each, and would suspect that armor remedies the nakedness as well. But I really hope that hats and gloves are not mandatory. I can live with shirt, pants, 2 shoes.

I'm going to try one pants, one shirt, and one shoe type (shoes only no socks), but I'll probably have a bunch of different types for style points. It doesn't appear that hats and gloves are required.

I've embarked on a glacier to see if my 1 of each set up causes any negative thoughts from not having enough clothes to keep out the cold.

I'm not getting negative thoughts using only pants, a shirt, and shoes.  That's 4 items per dwarf - substantially better than default settings for performance.

Yep. Only decision now is: Should I (or we) raise the layer size for those ? Civilians will always wear them, but military dwarves could replace them with breastplate, greaves and boots, instead of layering them. With 30 soldiers thats 120 items less.

The bugged nature of clothing coverage has been driving me crazy since 2010.
Now, on top of that, the latest "fix" does this.

Tantrum spirals due to lack of shoes, with no way to avoid it.  Oh yay.

What do you mean ? The issue is fixed, dwarves replace worn clothing. Simple solution for you is to make new shoes...

problem is if you load a save from an earlier version, everyone immediately goes on a pants-related rage
