The new ver. is much slower right?

I remember my old version running very fast even on large maps, new one runs at like 1/5 the speed.  I hope it's not just me?  (Yeah I know it's fresh and buggy & more stuff). 

Anyone have some good stuff to increase speed other then smaller areas/ dwarf accelerator?
