I've been playing 2010 here for a bit now and I decided to gen a new world. After genning I notice a volcano in the middle of the ocean, not having playing on a volcano island for a while I decided why not.

I go to the area and it turns out the volcano is in the middle of the ocean with an island nearby, so I embark any way. After setting up and setting out I see my dwarves on the shore where it instantly pauses to tell me a section of cavern collapsed, which always happens with volcanoes and me. At the location it turns out that the mouth of the volcano is below the ocean an is being insta-capped by the ocean flowing into the mouth.

After the cave ins calm down I get bombarded with the following messages.

I think that's the newly formed onsidian collapsing and exposing the hiddne goodies underneath as it punches through the layers

Out of the many little changes Toady made, the one I like the most now is making pauses optional for announcements. I'll probably enjoy burrows more than that when the merge comes around. For now I'll content myself with a small fort, so I can fit most of it on the screen.
