This game scares me sometimes...

What's more, this place is situated right on top of a passage to the underworld (cave).

I love Dwarf Fortress.

I don't know if it's related, but Silent Hill was abandoned because of unending coal fires under the town, apparently?  So if there's coal fires might be time to move out.

That's the movie, the game's backstory involved a cult of people who worshipped...something, it isn't really stated what though(I THINK).

If you hit a dwarf with moving water with sufficient strength it will knock the baby out of the mother's arms.  The water can then be used to sweep the baby into a well or cistern for drowning.  The device which does this can also double as a mist generator.

What's special about the Siltstone?

My guess is that there might be some highly flammable materials in silthstone.

Mine fires tend to involve a grade of coal that's actually usable, like lignite, bituminous coal, or (if you want an especially hot night on the town) anthracite.  The highest grade of coal, graphite, is also mercifully hard to ignite, so you don't exactly see a lot of graphite-based mine fires.

Yeah. They worshiped some old god... Actually, it doesn't matter what it was. They were freakin' insane. God kinda reminds me of Armok a little, covering everything with blood 'n' stuff.

It was snow in the game, which was changed to ash in the (lame) movie.

That actually happened to Centralia PA, and I think they took it as inspiration to the movie.

DF Could use some coal fires

I think you know what you need to do.

Name him 'Harry' and make him a mason.

I showed this post to my brother, who doesn't play DF but is a huge Silent Hill fan. He found it amusing, but said that "they should be fine as long as no one goes psycho and tries to kill everyone." Then he asked me why I was looking at him funny. After a short explanation of the phrase "tantrum spiral", he responded with, "Oh. I guess they're all screwed then."
