Twelve Monkeys

So, I came up with a cool, easy mod for a fortress that I think would work.

1: Up the population of Rhesus Macaques.
2: Give RMs a gas syndrome that causes RMs only to breed profusely.
3: Give RMs a contact syndrome that causes slow necrosis in anything.

Hopefully, this would cause the surface of the world to become a blood-covered wasteland; your fortress would have to either abandon all trade, or, for more fun, build a decontamination airlock out of grates and waterfalls. Traders would slowly rot as they came in, and dwarves going to the depot would be briefly exposed, causing some damage, which you'd constantly have to fight.

What do you really need to turn Elves into Dwarves? Mutation could make them grow a beard; insanity effects could make them evil-minded, aggressive, tree-hating cave dwellers, and instant, full necrosis of their lower legs could make them short.

Those things are evil enough WITHOUT mods. I saw an army of 'em attack a human town. Got all the children and tried to get away with the food.

Humans...

"Hey, Urlop, Rhesus Macaques are coming!  What do we do?"
"Hide the food."
"What about the kids?"
"What about the kids?"

I was talking about importing alimunim.
And we were hypothesising about the sexual relations between elves and trees.

Or, under the proposed mod...

"Hey, Urlop, Rhesus Macaques are coming!  What do we do?"
"Hide the food."
"What about the kids?"
"What about the kids?"
"By the way, didn't you used to have feet?"

*spends about a minute laughing*
I... I did not notice that, until just now. And I'm *not* fixing it.

It kinda makes sense, though.

I mean, I figured out it was supposed to be "bleed" by your "blood covered wasteland" bit, but it makes sense that they would have seductive monkey pheramones so that they breed hella fast.

^: Either that or the RMs are hella confused and think the female RMs are in perma-estrus.

Amen.  So we totally need a libido/quick-gestation syndrome.  Or just some way to make them gestate faster or have larger litters.  I think litters have a hard-coded cap at 3 right now though.  Not sure though.

Not sure if Syndromes would work for that, but something sure as hell should...

Just change the population ratios so you have a lot more females then males.

Well, that ups breeding rate, but it only does it through the mods- we meant a syndrome or some other condition, which could change during play.
