I can understand the philosophy. Also, between AdBlock and NoScript (Firefox plugins), I don't ever have to look at these ads unless I google them or click on a thread that says "Boobs!"

This causes me to be more ambivalent than I would otherwise, since I see retarded ads as opt-in.

Lastly, for shits and giggles, let's have a thought experiment. Games like Evony, which are free with micropayments, make most of their money from the few players that spend hundreds of dollars a month. And obviously, they are successful. Their typical example of a profitable customer must have clicked on a 'Boobs!' style ad, and now spends hundreds of dollars a month on micropayments in a second-rate city building game online. Please picture this customer.
