According to the wiki this means shells or bones. I got bones, and Urist McFeymood is still diddling around in the workshop doing nothing.

Shells or bones. If he doesn't want the bones, then he wants shells.

Either hurry up and fish&prepare some turtles, or get to modding (put [SHELL] into a favourite material of yours in material_template_default.txt), or lock the doors of his workshop. Your choice. :)

Thanks for the help, but he's just been stricken with melancholy. Fuck him, he was a useless dwarf anyhow.
