I'm still trying to remember the song someone linked to on Youtube that they played when exploring the underground.

It was... epic.
Awe-inspiring as the universe.

And we were hypothesising about the sexual relations between elves and trees.

I pretty much take all the music from here:http://promotingcrap.com/pages/unique-music/stockmusic/stockmusicarchive/ and put it all in a big playlist set on repeat and shuffle. Interlude 36 especially fits DF.

Led Zeppelin have a couple of rather apt ones; "Ramble On" is good Adventurer Mode music, and I always find myself humming "Immigrant Song" for the first year after embark. Also, the music from the various SimCity games works well for everyday fortress life.

And someone needs to sticky one of these threads and have done with it, because we seem to have one every couple of weeks.

Never used Dwarf Therapist, mods or tilesets in all the years I've been playing.
I think Toady's confusing interface better simulates the experience of a bunch of disorganised drunken dwarves running a fort.

This song seems oddly appropiate.

Here's a song I found that I find goes well with the process of constructing buildings (like castles).

Yes, yes I do. Hey, in my opinion the soundtrack is one of the most important aspects of most games. Same with movies. And life. All hail the mighty iPod! >.>

I remember enjoying this song back when I was invading a large cave filled with skeletal monsters in 40d.

I generally play homestuck music whilst playing. It's kinda funny, because as soon as my first cat got butchered, the song became Ode to Jaspers.

And you can't eat them, either, sadly. Even though it'd make sieges so much more fun; dwarves lining the walls, drooling and carrying sharp knives and forks, ready for the upcoming meals.

As a general rule, I listen to this song whenever I'm in a major battle in pretty much any game that doesn't use guns.  Ideally suited to when you're under siege and actually bother to kill them the brutal way instead of leaving it to traps.

I can only listen to The Phantom of the Opera when i play dorffort.
Doesnt fit but ive heard it so many times now that certain parts in DF remind me of certain lyrics and certain lyrics remind me of DF.
