I dislike the idea of having to purchase spheres. It would just become a race to see who could get the most, I fear. The last game I tried something like that I got wrapped up in creating and fell behind in the power race to the point that the other gods could do twice as much as I could. I'm not saying that spheres can't be earned, I'm just wary about them being easily purchased with acts.

I must agree there, but purchasing them seemed strange to me anyways.

That's why worship influence Gods. It's a force that can't be directly controlled by the players, but that's earned through fear, respect or love. (Or perhaps necessity.)

Presumably, the response would be to change the race to favour ugly women.

This race would select against itself quickly.

Probably not. It'd take lots of strength to make all women of one race ugly all at once.

Easier just to change the men's preference to the ugliest women, yeah. Then a few generations later you'll have the same effect.

Just like how I wished Eragon would have done magic. Just, why the hell would you toss spears and shit when you can just clamp someones Aorta shut and accomplish the same thing.

There were bigger problems with eragon than nonsensical magic.

Like lack of a coherent plot, or writing talent.
