So the good old SMR
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
, is there any efficient safe way of finding a decent entrance to the good stuff?

there is likely to be a message along the lines of "Raw eggs and ham!  Praise the miners!" (or something along those lines) when you reach the giant lakes of magma.  if not, I guess you just have to explore the lakes of magma more carefully (good luck with that ;))

Oh come on.
I dig right into it expecting the usual magma, and I get

instead. I reckon thats the end of this Fort pretty quick then.

hell has at very least 500 million demons. So digging into it is not advisable for your fortress's well being.

I really want that one as a "when". I want "grubs", and "virgin woman" to turn into a dragon. and monkey children to suddenly sprout wings. And I want the Dwarven Mutant Academy to only gain their powers upon reaching puberty. I also have a whole host of odd creatures that only make sense if I divide them into children and adults.

Also, tadpoles.

Unless of coarse your bored with your fortress and want to see how long you can last a never ending mega siege.

Well Ive changed my gens so that theres only 10 species of Hellions. However more came out the hole than expected but at the same time, epicly small proportions.

It was kinda unfair on me though. I technically never breached hell. I breached the magma sea which just happened to had a natural cave in knocking through to it >.>

With one species of hellions you have 500 million individual demons. The figures go up to the dozens of billions in bigger maps.

Fun fact: the temperature of semi molten rock is about 9° C

Where the good stuff spawns is random. Often it's in a convenient place to get to without having to dig through semi-molten rock. If a cluster happens to be in an inaccessible place, look around more.

Congrats, Psieye. This is the first time I've seen a derailed thread get put back on the rails.

I could almost sig this for nonsensity. Taken out of the context of the thread, it seems quite ridiculous. :D
