Easier way to bring Magma up - Will this work?
« on: May 20, 2010, 07:17:00 am »

I'm curious if there is some way to use pressure to drive magma to the surface, using something like this:

I could definitely try this but I'm sure someone else already has.  But I thought perhaps pressure could be involved here?

If not magma would this work with water?

Thanks.

Nope, neither water or magma works like that...

Pumps do pressurise water AND magma but only to the z-level of pump exit.

No. Don't think about fluids and pressure like they were in any way but name related to real-life fluids and pressure. Read the hydrodynamics education thread.

You can pressurise water so it can flow up to a certain height but no higher than the original output height of the pump.
