Also, bullets most certainly can blow limbs off... It'll just take you 50 or so clips and precision aim (around 1-3 mm spread) to detach the last few muscles and ligaments. Even then, you'd need a bullet with lots of momentum.

heh, people have been conditioned by hollywood to believe that gunshots cause huge wounds, but in reality most of the wound is just a hole the size of the round fired, with a slightly larger internal wound cavity. If you asked any gunsmith if the 7.92x57 could rip off an arm, they'd laugh in your face, and I've already spread this funny little story to a few people. It's quite ridiculous.

In fact, one of the people i told this to told me why that guy probably thinks that the 7.92 can rip a limb off. There was a History channel demonstration on bullets, and for the modern rifle round they used the Kar98k and its 7.92x57 round. They shot at a wet clay block, and the hole created was the size of a football.

But there is never a condition where a single bullet could ever blow off anyones limb. Despite what the internet may tell you, lol.

Also, I hate referring to the 50. cal BMG as the .50 cal. I much prefer the other measurement, 12.7x99mm. It's a more accurate description.

Sure there's are such situations, although I think they're very unlikely. And if your limb is hanging on by a small scrap of flesh, I think it's smarter to model it as severed (gameplay-wise). On the other hand, AK47, M16 and M4 in LCS can sever limbs, but if I've understood correctly those machine guns are more like portable rapid-fire miniartillery (in LCS).

I also find shotgun's limb severing a tad unrealistic. But it's not the top one Hollywood unrealistic effect I've seen - EXPLODING CARS are. Maybe we should have that in LCS as well?

You didn't quite get my point. I meant it's possible to amputate a limb with a single bullet. The limb needs to be already beaten severely (as I said, hanging by a strip of flesh) for this to be in any way probable.

No problem. In any case, LCS isn't the most realistic game. Or rather, it is realistic, but that realism becomes more and more distorted and perverted when you look at it. Just think about 6 hippies with relatively little training fighting off the US military and their jet bombers. With swords. What is the Matrix, by the way?

Yeah, I understand. As I said, I find the very same urban legends very ridiculous. Cars very rarely explode after a crash. Bullets don't blow up people or limbs. Et cetera, et cetera. Basically most of them are harmless, but on the other hand, the car explosion legend isn't as people think it's imperative to get out of the car as fast as possible, and that means not using a seatbelt. Not only ridiculous, but dangerous.

Yes, and gun myths are very common, and they would not be nearly as annoying if it weren't for the fact that every testosterone filled BRO is attracted to guns, so you hear people try to act like experts all the time. UristMcGunsmith I assure you that you are incorrect . No amount of evidence to the contrary will obviously move you from your current stance so I'm not even going to try. For the record, yes Hollywood does exaggerate most things but that doesn't mean everything they portray is 100% factually inaccurate. Cars will explode if a suitable amount of damage is done to the engine and fuel tank, causing a spark to ignite the fuel. In some cases the car will burn out but in other cases if the conditions for combustion are just right the car will, I guarantee you explode. Many modern sniper rifles can potentially dismember an enemy (I could give you a whole list of anti-personnel and anti-material rifles that could but like I said I can't be bothered, if you think otherwise then *shrug*) and as for the K98 being able too... Well... I can't say I have any actual evidence other than hearsay but I trust my sources. Also grow up and get over preening your e-peen with comments like "I talked to my buddies and we had a good laugh... Blah... Blah... Blah..." You should know that before you post anything, I'm not going to respond to it.
