Uh... are you asking people to make characters that they care about so that they can have a guaranteed death? That doesn't sound like too much fun.

Have you read the Iliad? Because this is exactly that.

Frederick attempts to summon this entity. roll 1. he fails, and voracious spirits from the void answer the call instead! they are (roll) 2 and have monstruous apearances:
one is a crow twisted into humanoid form, with a 9 snakes in place of a head
the other is composed of seven severed arms wielding swords of a strange design, these seem to come from  a distant world or a distant age and all from different times or places.
they attack Frederick, (roll 4 -1 for injuries,3) the crow spirit claws Frederick in the shoulder, tearing the flesh, but Frederick manages to avoid the bite of its many serpent heads, at the same time he parries the swords from the other spirit; these attack with supernatural force and leave severe dents in frederick's staff. Frederick then cast a spell that surrounds himself in flames; this scares the serpent headed spirit, but the other ghost keeps attacking. it attacks again and again, Frederick deflects these attacks with his staff but eventually it breaks, releasing an explosion of energy that disintegrates the demons and propels Frederick against a wall. Frederick's wounds aren't too severe, but the loss of his staff decreases his casting abilities.
Frederick again tries to summon the spirit of the skull, his casting ability is impaired but he now is aware of the evil presences so he manages to avoid these and succeeds in summoning the spirit.
The skull begins to glow and a translucent substance forms out of the air, giving the skull a ghostly flesh... the skull faces Frederick and opens it's mouth, it speaks in an ancient tongue, but in his head Frederick understands it clearly. Images of strange shaped light creatures battling void demons appear in his mind and he understands that the ruin he is in is an ancient tomb, built to imprison a great demon lord. Frederick is told that the demon's body was shackled in a room buried miles beneath the earth, and his soul imprisoned in a magical labyrinth that can only be entered from the room Frederick is in. He is told that in a human kingdom far to the south, a priest was bribed by the demon's minions and has been performing rituals and sacrifices to strengthen the demon, and that his soul is almost free. Once the demons soul is released his influence on the world will increase greatly and he will be able to free his body eventually. Frederick tries to reply that he cares little for all that, that he is just looking for a way out of these cursed ruins. He feels the skull spirit replying that he has no choice; he must try and defeat the demon on the labyrinth. Frederick then feels his body being transmuted, the atoms of his body being replaced by magical particles, and suddenly, he is no longer in the ruins where he previously was: he is in a vast corridor, at least a mile wide, in front of him is a bald man with a pale yellowish skin, his features remind Frederick of the skull in the ruins.
The bald man speaks in with the voice of the skull, and hands Frederick a small silver horn and a miniature of a strange horse: it is a slender creature with the horns of a bull and it's feet have scaly fingers like those of a lizard. Frederick understands from the man's words that he is to summon this horse to aid him brave the labyrinth. He will find two manifestations of the demon and he is to fight these by himself, when he finds the third he shall blow the horn, and a host of light spirits will come in is aid.
