It seems best to train your driving on low-class conservatives at first. Redecks, Hicks, ect. They are both the worst in vehicular combat and can be escaped with the lowest driving skill. Move up to cops next. Then corporate mercanaries. Once your driving skill hits eight, and you have an effective band of combat liberals, consider driving against the agents. By that point, raising your driving skill further becomes pointless. At Driving 10 you can out-drive anyone on Earth, and stay alive through the most reckless options of the driving events.

Well, then, I'm off to create a liberal Bruce Willis. Be back in an hour.

Actually, I train my driving against just about anybody. I basically hit the gas if there's no obstacles or against fruit stand, and slow down for everything else. Then once I max my skill gain, I abandon vehicle and run away. Or kill the chasers.

The main problem isn't TYPE of enemy, it's NUMBER of enemies. If you run away really early, you will probably only be chased by 1-2 enemies. If you just dawdle in the site for a long time, you can get chased by loads of enemies.

Type matters. I know that you can't escape agents without Driving 8. Unless I got really unlucky with the 100 "Try to loose them" attempts on a single car not working. Followed by death.

Er, yeah, so you can't outdrive agents without driving 8...
so what?
Get out of the car and RUN. Sorted!

OR, if there's only 1-2 agents, FIGHT.
OR, Bail out, THEN fight!

Basically, if you know what you're doing, you can get 8.5 driving skill in 7 car chases.

Sometimes even driving 8 and a sportscar isn't enough to outrun those blasted agents. Darn them and their BLACK sportscars with some unknown but presumably uber driving and agility.

Driving skill of about 2-3 combined with a sports car is good enough against most enemies.

Yeah. If you use a sports car, you need like driving 4 to outrun agents. it has a three times boost, so its ridiculously effective/

I suspect you've never tried doing many illegal things yet in your game. The second the CCS knows you're "active", they'll come down on you like the hammer of God.

Although I don't know the exact stats, are sports cars not extremely unprotective?

It's been a while since I checked the source, but it hasn't caused me any trouble so I don't think it's extremely dangerous.

In shootouts, all cars are equally protective. It used to be that sports cars were very dangerous to drive, but I don't think that's the case any longer.
