We all live in a Dwarven Submarine. [Community]
« on: May 12, 2010, 02:04:16 am »

We all live in a dwarven submarine, a dwarven submarine, a dwarven submarine. And that requires it being solid gold, and filled with magma. Oh, and in a giant green glass aquarium. Yes, I'm going to make a giant yellow dwarven submarine. No real story here. Just put your names in.

You can edit out aquifers by going into the raw files, under objects, in inorganic_stone_layer and inorganic_stone_soil

As for soils, I'm sure you can edit it out but I am not sure how.

For getting rid of sedimentary, try setting minimum volcanism to 100? Works in 40d.

One thing that I know for a fact would work for a submarine is to find an extremely high Z level volcano, construct your submarine above ground but below the top level of the volcano. Construct walls high enough to cover your submarine. Then breach the volcano and let it flood the map.

I believe magma drains off the edges in 31.xx.

I had an idea to make a "bubble" city and flood the map with water before, but I'm too lazy to actually take the time and do it.

Gimme a d0rf named "Coxswain Carl" because alliteration is always awesome.

I'd like to be dwarfed please. Make me a miner. Miners are awesome.

So we got monsters above, monsters below, dwarves in the middle and a party in the dining hall. Sounds good to me.
If all else fails, remember one thing:  kittens are delicious, nutritious little goblin-baiters, cavern explorers, and ambush-finders.

I believe magma drains off the edges in 31.xx.

I figured that it might, so that is why I suggested high enough walls to kind of be like a cup of coffee with your submarine at the bottom.
