IslandsMUD - multiplayer telnet roguelike

IslandsMUD is a multiplayer text game set on an island.

To play you must connect using telnet protocol to:

jplur.no-ip.org 5057

in windows command prompt type 'telnet jplur.no-ip.org 5057'

should work fine in linux, mac might have color emulation problems.

PuTTY telnet client will not work, other 'mud clients' should work fine.

in windows vista and 7 you will have to enable the default terminal program - cotroll panel:programs:Turn Windows Features on and off

KNOWN ISSUES:
passwords are saved as plaintext in the save file, for your security don't use an important password.

When you log in, you are sort of in limbo until you move to another room, and won't be able to attack or get attacked.

TIPS:

it shouldn't take more than a few minutes to gain a level or two, try attacking rats and alley cats at level 1.

I've been doing a lot of thinking and research on what kind of world I want this to be, and finally started adding new features.

The developmental server is at telnet jplur.no-ip.org 5071

new commands are 'map' to display the ASCII map, 'north' 'south' 'east' 'west' to move, and 'wall' to build a wall

@ Omegastick: The room based MUD is getting phased out, but to move between rooms type 'go exit', whatever exit you want.

This is neat.
I like the simplicity of it.
MUDs aren't good mediums for complexity.

Oh yeah, it might also be nice to say how much xp you get when you kill something.

I'll help you out with it. I'm good with C++ and designing. I'll do it for free but on some conditions.

1. Ingame I get a pink silk scarf that nobody else gets and does nothing besides being cosmetic. Anybody questioning said scarf will be IP banned.
2. I get a helicopter.
3. My name gets a special unicode character that can't be cut and paste and must be typed out correctly for anybody to reference me.
