Ein Reads Books
« on: May 15, 2010, 05:17:51 am »

Hey guys, I was screwing around with Audacity and ended up recording the first paragraph of the introduction of the Zombie Survival Guide.
So, I've decided to record me reading some of my books for you guys.
Here's the list (of books I'm willing to read) so far:
-Heart of Darkness - Joseph Conrad
-Gulliver's Travels - Jonathan Swift
-The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams
-Notes from the Underground - Fyodor Dostoevsky
-Crime and Punishment - Fyodor Dostoevsky
-The Gambler - Fyodor Dostoevsky
-The Brothers Karamazov - Fyodor Dostoevsky (note: I will not be reading this one anytime soon, it's waaaaaaay too long)
-Slaughterhouse Five - Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
-The Zombie Survival Guide - Max Brooks

I also have some Shakespeare, but will most likely refrain from that until I can find somebody to collaborate with the reading.

Yay for The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I watched the movie but I'd love to listen to a book.

ein the first thing I thaught when I heard your voice is that your voice reminds me of Michael McManus and that you hold slightly when you pronounce S's...

That and your voice sounds very dead...

I get that a lot.
Also, I'm really tired right now and am using a shitty mike.

I'm still wondering how long it would take me to read the Brothers Karamazov.
Let's say I can record 5 chapters a week.
It would take about 20 weeks to go through the whole thing. :-\

As awesome as that would be, the intro is very dry and boring, to the point it'd sound like a sermon at St. Peter's church.

The bits I've read from an existentialism book on Karamazov makes it seem very interesting, at least on premise. I'd vote for it if you put it up

If you ever need a second voice I'll help out.

It's less that I need a second voice and more that I would need a female voice for doing Shakespeare.
Anyway, it looks like I'll be starting with the ZSG.
My throat is sore right now, so I'll most likely record the first part tomorrow.

I could do a wicked terrible female voice  :D
