Human Fortress... Getting it right...

Now I have seen a few threads including people that have failed at making Humans playable. It used to be just a simple copy past of one or two things in the last Version. But with all the stuff thats in the raws now. I like may others are completely confused...

If anyone has editted it right and such, can they please post the Raw segment for it please...

You're not really playing humans unless you disallow them from making picks, and make a custom reaction at a "sawmill" workshop that turns one log into 5 wooden blocks. 

Bonus points if the sawmill requires a large serrated disk to build  :P

Nah, I like playing as dwarves. I sorta make the layout with dorfs, and settle with humans so my adventurers can get some proper swag.

Yeah disallowing picks is a bit too far. Humans, even in this level of technology, were quite good at digging way too deep and too greedily. They had extensive mines for things like copper and iron and coal and GOLD

I agree, but maybe they should just not be as good at mining. Maybe slow mining skill gains so it takes them a long time to mine out large areas unless they use large teams.
