It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Should I really download Byond again for Dwarfed? Is it worth it?

Lol, I did just that... I would suggest taking Head's advice and not do so yet... Byond hasn't improved any since I last played it 4-5 years ago. -.-

This is a multiplayer dwarf fortress themed game, with no AI whatsoever, not much of a clone.

Alrighty, good info. Thx.

Don't be silly

Quote
reverse engineer DF's code and then post links to your DF clone project

This is a totally new code on a totally new platform. Probably Architect was drunk or joking or he doesn't know what BYOND is when he posted that.

Don't be unkind by insulting my intelligence. In fact, you made yourself sound rather stupid there.

For one thing: there's no guarantee this would stay in the realm of Byond if the creator's intention had been to undermine DF or steal Toady's ideas for their own profit. For another, you don't have to completely clone DF to do that.

By "silly" I meant strange, not stupid. Also there IS a guarantee that it will stand in BYOND only because the code is BYOND-unique, you cannot use it anywhere else, you would literally have to rewrite thousands lines of code to do anything with it, and you would have to write hundreds of functions which already pre-exist in byond.

A second thing, it will "steal" as much of Toady's ideas as of Dungeon Keeper's or Adom's ideas. It will never have a world generator or ai-controlled creatures under player's control, thus it's much closer to the last two examples than to DF.

Well, I'd like to see a randomly generated large, explorable area, yes. But entire worlds? No thanks.

A single persistent world could be a very good thing, but it would need to be stored on-site somewhere other than our computers :)

I don't know that anyone would dedicate themselves to such a task, especially considering the burden of cost that would be inherent to hosting such a thing. You'd have to really want your Dwarfed to go in for something that awesome (and awesomely work/time intensive).

You could have the game map that we play on (the site) and the world is just general details instead of what is in DF.

Would you kindly take it elsewhere? Nobody's reverse engineering anything here and the pointless semantics are detracting from the topic.

Interesting fact. Build builds an EXE, and that EXE STILL uses Byond code.
