Hey guys. Finally started playing LCS, and I have a bunch of questions even after reading the wiki and playing for a few good hours.
1. Changing opinion. I'm sort of lost on how to target specific issues, and what is really making a difference versus what is not. I sort of understand it like this:
The public cares more about an issue when you do activities relating to said issue. So liberating sweatshop workers and destroying machinery makes the public care more about labor laws.
What I don't get is the scale and the impact of some activities. What does newspaper writing target? What does Harass Websites actually DO to public opinion? How do you change public opinion on Drug Law? Police Behavior? And how much of these activities do I need to do to see some relevant impact?
And...how do you make the public care about an issue so you can change their opinion? I guess in the end I'm not really sure where you begin...focusing on things people care about already, or liberally inflaming public opinion on issues I want/need to have changed.
2. Is the public's view of LCS pretty much tied to it's overall conservative/liberal bent?
3. What impacts being ratted out by fallen LCS members? Heart? Juice? Other than testifying against you if you're arrested, what effect does it have on your current operations? Are prostitutes a risky gamble since they have little juice and are prime for getting picked up? Should I honestly worry about getting legions of hippies, pros and illegals busted for petty crimes?
4. I'm a little confused on the hierarchy of the organization. What does promoting someone do, and how does that impact you when they rat you out?
5. Is there no safer way to train street survival and cooking than selling brownies? Seems like a catch-22 for those with low street survival that want to build either of those up.
6. Good targets to acquire the business skill from?
7. What governs a squad member's grasp of "issues" when they're out talking to people? Likewise, when dealing with liberal figures of power, like lawyers and liberal judges, what does it take to get them engaged in your cause? I've had poor luck in my third month now, trying to get some sleepers in the justice system. My leader with issues 25, persuasion 2 has like a 50/50 shot of even getting them to respond to a conversation.
8. Clothing. I get the uses of many of them as disguises, but do they influence other things as well? For example, does the trenchcoat provide concealability for larger weapons? Does wearing nicer clothing make it easier to approach upper class figures?
9. Lastly, is there a more comprehensive wiki available than
http://lcs.wikidot.com/? Seems a bit behind the times and, while decent for getting started, lacks quite a bit of detail.
