Any changes in the init files between this version and .04, or can I just transpose? that's always the most annoying part of switching versions for me.

from file changes.txt:

Auxiliary file changes for 0.31.05:
   data/index
   Non-legacy init.txt has new options:
      [KEY_REPEAT_ACCEL_LIMIT:8]
      [KEY_REPEAT_ACCEL_START:10]

This, I don't remember seeing before: A partly frozen pool!
Is that new?
(I fear for my dwarves now going ice skating and suddenly dropping in... :()

It happens if the pool straddles a biome that has slightly different temperature settings.  Can confirm it was in .03.

Question about key bindings- What do I change in interface.txt to map the SECONDSCROLL keys to [ ] - = as I always have them?

Awesome! New Dwarf Fortress days are my favorite days! Thanks for the linux version Toady, I really appreciate it.

Now if only those folks over at the Arch-games repo would update my day would be complete.

Has anyone tried using old saves? I have a fort created in .04 that I'm in love with and would like to bring over. No mayors issue has cropped up yet in this fort.

Saves from 31.04 should be 100% compatible.

On a save game from .04 to .05 i seem to be having an odd issue with barrels and bins, ive plenty in my furniture stockpile, and yet dwarves seem to only be using existing ones within their respective storage stockpiles. they wont place new bins or barrels onto such stockpiles, and are now placing food, coke, charcoal and such out in the raw

Hello, first thanks for the update, but I have some trouble.
With linux (arch distro), some of my libs were too up to date (libpng for exemple), I had to compile older versions to lauch the game.

But more annoyingly, I could not manage to generate a new world, with basic settings and little map I get hundreds of rejected worlds until I get an error window saying that for some reasons, no civilizations could live here.

31.04 - Graphics off (obviously) 192 dwarves, 162 animals, 16 children. Constant 14 FPS .. playable, but very slow for anything to happen.

31.05 - 52 dwarves, 20 animals, 4 children .. unplayable Frame rates all over the place, random pauses, almost like playing multiplayer with eratic ping

Bad graphical(in brackets) or core fps?
Have you tried both clients with the same save and getting performance drop in one but no the other?

I took my save from 31.03, turned off temperature and weather, and experienced the same frame rate of 11 fps.

I think it is time for a selection process.

Please try that with PRINT_MODE:2D. Also, try upgrading your drivers?

I've got the exact same card and OS as you; works fine here.

Great bug fixes.

Does the Military actually train/work correctly yet though? I'm holding off on 31 until They work right without having to pray to armok and constantly release squads and remake them.
