Weapon racks and armor stands actually hold weapons and

How 'bout it? It would be a good way to make outposts of small piles of armor and weapons, in case your warriors need them, plus they'd have an actual use!

They did at some point but they were broken a while back.

Toady, just code the weapon and armor contains so that they act like Stockpiles with bins on them already.

Should be easy like that?

Or he could code them the way they were before they were broken- which was pretty much like how modern stockpiles work.

They do work right now... sort of. If a dwarf has one in his room and claims some armor or a weapon, he sticks it in there. I'm not sure if they hold more then 1 item each or not (only ever seen one in there) though.

I dont really see the point, bins + stockpiles serve the same purpose and if my dwarves have amour I'd like them to be wearing it please (why else would I give them it) I like them as they currently are: Something nobes use to make themselves look braver/tougher than they really are.

I believe armor stands and racks are supposed to serve the same purpose of cabinets, but for a dwarf's personal armor and weapons.
