OK I don't know if you've fixed it, but the tileset changer, and actually all of the settings stuff is "odd". It seems it simply get the default file and fix some hardcoded values. Please change only lines that has to be changed.

yeah sorry about the graphics.
we knew this in advance a bit but couldn't get it working in time. so Lucas decided to do it the simpler way to get it done

this should be addressed in the next release.

though the other stuff only changes *one* setting. the graphics just overwrites it all

settings, aquifers, and exotics ONLY change the lines needed (find-replace in existing files)

But graphics overwrite /all/ raws and settings
This is an eventual goal to fix with graphics, but its tricky to do. Need to mimic what hermano did in his raw merger. Maybe he'd help out.

I tried asking this somewhere else, but I figured here I'd get a confident answer... Does this work with Linux (Ubuntu)?

DF does, but most of the accessories don't. Though I think Dwarf Therapist works with Ubuntu. Sucks for me since I don't use Ubuntu. Haven't tried any of them through Wine yet though...

That's the great thing about this forum. We can derail any discussion into any other topic.

you could re-start, or (if you had autosave and autobackup on) just load an earlier save. however, if you see only 1 save, then sorry, can't revert.

(bold above for first problem)

Settings depend on how you like to play. For example, you can turn invaders (ambushes and sieges, but not thieves/snatchers) off to help learn stuff. To get a bit more fps at the cost of realism, you can turn temperature and weather off (but water stays in the same state with temperature off, so don't count on those freezing traps/getting water from the glacier with magma/etc.

Suggested "needs": ECONOMY:Off (broken mostly), fps counter on, cap your fps/gfps at 100/50 for good performance, autosave and autobackup are a must, compressed saves take up less space but can corrupt (I play either one at times, notice no big difference), aquifers depend on playstyle (but for you I suggest turning off), other stuff is to fiddle with (but try keeping defaults on the rest)

But I don't blame you guys, it really ISN'T apparent. The link to the the XML is tiny and hidden, and doesn't give any hint to what version it is compatible with.

Thank you Lucas.

As for Japa's

it actually is.

it often pays to take a look at the actual threads of these utilities, and pay attention to whatever troubleshooting advice that's there.

Lucas has stated in his first post this:

Stonesense Slate - Download Latest Memory.xml for partial 31.18 compatibly

hence my query.
