I don't understand this whole thing about books being special in some way.

They're wood pulp and ink, with a few other bits thrown in.
They are sacred, and they double as handy blunt objects.
*TOME!*

I still remember getting my ass handed to me in Dungeons and Dragons by a mage that ran out of spells and just started beating me over the head with his spell-book.

How many dice was the spellbook worth in damage?

The DM ruled that it was 1D4. I think that it should have been 1D2.

I had forgotten just how much of a pain Las Vegas is to navigate :X

To those of you who live there, or have been there recently, or know how to look up a location online, I invite you to observe the South Point casino. Marvel at how many buildings make up the entire area. Now picture a lost truck driver attempting to locate the loading docks for such a resort when the route to them is not clearly marked. Then discover that there is actually a second set of loading docks, further on (still without a marked route, of course), in an area filled to the brim with construction equipment. Now imagine having to back up to the docks while weaving around said construction equipment.

Yeah.

I kept provoking attacks of opportunity by attempting to grapple the mage, since I didn't know he was out of spells at the time.

Yeah.

I immediately assumed you were talking about New Vegas, and was about to say something like "yeah, there's a lot of brown." XD

You only threaten with weapons in which you are proficient.

Unless that mage had an improvised weapon talent, his attacks of opportunity were breaking the rules.

When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

It does sort of boil down to the GM's ruling at the end, and the mental image of a mage beating some warrior (or whatever you were) senseless with a large tome while the guy tries to grab him is actually pretty hilarious.

I don't see anything in Pathfinder's rules about having to be proficient with your weapon to do an attack of opportunity. It does mention that you have to be armed in order to make an attack of opportunity though. I think monks/improved unarmed strikers and creatures with natural attacks would be an exception though.

And it was my summoner's eidolon that got its ass kicked. I built that thing specifically to tank, which makes it even sadder.

Aaannnnddd now the teacher has nixed the one goddamn export method that actually works for me. And naturally, being able to export is required for half the bloody course grade. Also found out after some cursory search that quickbooks only works with microsoft office products! Which I don't have and damn sure don't want! Fuck quickbooks! Bugger Intuit with a rusty spiked baseball bat!

I have to say. I will walk away from this course with two things. One, the ability to use quickbooks to a limited degree (which I had well enough by around week two, and is only limited because QB is an utter piece of shit.). Two, an infinite frothing rage for Quickbooks and the bastards that produced it. Literally every time I use that damned program, I like it less.

I don't believe I've yet had the pleasure of working with a piece of software that not only started off being miserable, but grew progressively worse with further exposure. Usually you get more familiar, learn to work around whatever initial bullshit was involved. Not with quickbooks! Where other things have turtles, QB has bullshit. All the goddamn way down.

My graphics card (a GTX 460) just died a sudden and unexpected death.  I have 1 hour to choose and order a new one if I want it delivered tomorrow (which would be ideal, since day job during the week).

Goddamn horses tore down their fence last night. Spent 3 hours putting the fucking thing back together and trying to convince the dumbass mare to stop running the foals all over the fields.
