I dunno, the rage thread seems like a perfect fit for gender shit.

Hehe, tit for tat discussion I guess. If someone else posts on it, I swear not to reply :P

I suppose this is the wrong thread. Not that there are any gender threads still afloat, AFAIK

I'm with Frumple. I'm putting the kybosh on this discussion, as it's gone on for several pages and could potentially go on for several more.  We have plenty of threads for discussing gender identity, sexuality and so forth. Please carry the discussion over to one of those threads.

I wasn't aware we were still discussing it anyway...

We have plenty of threads for discussing gender identity, sexuality and so forth.
Didn't all of those get locked?

A cursory search would show that to be the case. Which is exactly why I don't want it discussed here.

Call center people that hang up on other techs that need to transfer a customer to their department or lie to avoid the call.

1st call.  *other tech does their intro specifically mentioning they are tv support* "Howdy this is [Greiger] from [company] I have a customer here who is still having issues with their tv service, after I got their internet working.   TV tech: "Good luck with that." *click*

2nd call Oh I'm sorry but the *name of server that i use to access my tools* is down right now so I can't help them.  Me: I use that same server and it shows good status on all sets, but can you transfer me to one of the techs in your department with the backup server then?  *click*

3rd Call *click* (I imagine the tech recognized the internal number on the caller id, picked up the phone and hung up)

4th call Howdy this is [Greiger] from [department]... *click*

After I reported it to my supervisor he told me that they 'just do that' and that if I can't get the transfer through to have the customer wait in queue to call them themselves.

So much unprofessional-ism makes me rage hard.

-snip-
That's pretty fucking awful. And you can't do anything about it at all? It sounds like your supervisor is apathetic towards the issue anyway.

Two undumpable chalk rocks that all dorfs refused to move were blocking the construction of a carpenter's workshop, so i used dfhack to submerge them in magma.
magma flowed down to the omnipile below and evaporated my legendary carpenter.

Why don't we just literally call them transasterisk people?

I had the same tech issues last week. 3rd party tech gave them some prebuilt computers, with an OEM version of Windows installed. One of them refuses to accept its product key, so it's constantly screaming about not being genuine.

3rd party tech who bought these things: "you should call MS about that."

....ok, fine. I hate calling MS but short of throwing this guy under the bus there's no one else to do it. Never mind I'm installing the server, installing workstations and trying to train all at the same time.

First call to MS, it takes 20 minutes to describe my issue and make a case. Midway through the transfer to the license department (which is not accessible from the phone system) the call drops.

2nd call, another 20 minutes to describe my issue to another tech. This time I ask for a case #. And then they transfer me to the wrong department. In transferring AGAIN, the call drops.

Third call I give them my case # and they tell me it's not valid. They say they'll transfer me to the license department, and then I distinctly hear them hang up the phone on me.

45 minutes, three calls, zero help. Fuck call centers.

Arma 3 free to play from 23ed to 27th.

Found out on the 26th...

Also, Nenjin, apparently a shocking amount of people who build computers for others pirate the OS, or install cracked OS, or other things that aremt the best...

My terrible-music-addict sister was cooking while listening to music out in the kitchen with her ipod on full blast. She has earbuds. I ask her to put them in. Of course, this is met with her usual "Noooo!" in this crappy whiny voice and my parents telling me to go into the other room (using a terrible compaq laptop I haven't actually used yet) or put on these noise-blocking earmuffs (the kind that have that thick padding around the ears to block sounds, usually for stuff like chainsaws and guns) we keep around the house. Those things can't block out the sound she was making at that volume. I just lived with it until she went upstairs.

So, to recap, I'm apparently the one at fault when somebody else is doing something obnoxious, even if they have a much simpler solution to the problem.

Rrrrrr.
