Well, not necessarily. Yoink may not have a roof, or an umbrella, or Macbook, or whatever, to shelter beneath. But generally speaking, yes, rain is a good thing.

That's probably even better, all things considered.

According to some Honduran child charity...
Quote
The promotion of non-violent techniques of discipline and education in Honduras is urgently required. The family tradition permits corporal punishment, and violence and sexual abuse are common within families, in schools and in institutions. Prosecutions are rare and few investigations lead to convictions.

Usually seen as criminals rather than victims, there is little psychological counselling or rehabilitation assistance for child victims of violence.

wat
Even a cursory search notes, parenting styles that is, that these things aren't what is holistically and objectively right.

If there's lacking aid there--then isn't there anyway through the internet to advance support towards there? I seriously doubt htere is one person in your community that can help you Caroline. :-\
Like that teacher you said who did not share the (stupid) homophobia prevalent in your community.
Or that priest who gave advice and helped you, accepted you and trusted you after all the burdens you said.
It's the singular people who make a difference...despite such notes as the quote above x_x

...Still, rage at the lack of...humane(?) things there. argghhhhh

Thanks for the support, guys.
I'm still not sure what to do about this- and still don't know if there's any way to do anything without causing more harm than good.
I played KSP and some TF2 to blow off the steam, and now I've calmed down. So that's good.
Probably develop this to withstand whatever carp is happening to you. It's what most people who changed the world for the better did regardless of any calamity or abuse in their lives did.
Then stop it entirely by not doing it to others.

Be the awesome person in your future C: There are stories of people who changed the world in a holistically good way (with seriously bad pasts)--they exist, aim for it >:D

You may be unsure what to do about it--develop yourself first before going against that which oppresses you(r self/surroundings, like the attitude which is inhumane; like the homophobia). Did you download the dropbox thingy I sent via PM yet? :O It has notes on these things. By 'develop yourself first' I mean, like, create a support-via-thought which helps reinforce your good personality in order to maintain that resilience :P

Most of these things stem with thought, actually. How people deal with it--the first thing everyone individually faces before it is shown to everyone else.
