I just have a billion cords in general. I don't know what most of them are for, but it's a good bet that if I need a cable for something I'll have it somewhere.

...

Anyway, actual raeg: Nosebleed. As in, a metric buttload of blood pouring out of my nostril. I've corked it with a bit of rolled-up toilet paper but now I look stupid and there's blood everywhere.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

So at the moment I'm playing through Dual Destinies. Was looking for a GIF of my favourite character so far (in terms of body language at least) appropriate for use as a reaction image, and the only one I could find was low quality and 9 frames long.

What is wrong with the world.

Everyone in this country is legit crazy. Kinda want to spend 2015 meditating on a mountain with no one around for thousands of miles. That would be sweet.

Whoever owns the mountain probably has a gun.

... though generally the actual problem with going and meditating on a mountain for a year isn't necessarily doing that, it's coming back down. And starting your life back up with a year-sized gap.

Well, and surviving the year, but that's a given.

E: But, uh. If you're actually serious, you might look around your area for any religious faiths that have strong connection to ascetic practices -- buddhism's an obvious go-to. Even if you're not an adherent -- even outright irreligious, in some cases -- it's not unlikely they might be able to offer advice, contacts with folks who work with those who do things like hermitages, and things like that. There are organizations out there that actually have experience with enabling long disconnections from society, and some of them are fairly friendly, from what I understand.

It's very cold outside. Once spring comes around, to the mountains I go.

Pretty much all the mountains here are fine to hike up. It would probably be unrealistic to actually live on the top of a mountain for a year, but regularly hillwalking/mountain hiking seems like a fun thing to do. I have a friend who did it for years of his life with the israeli soldier guy that owns a restaurant near here. I was already invited if they go at it again, so that might be a thing.

I dunno if they have buddhists here.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies
It's a game on the 3DS in the series about the Titular Lawyer, featuring a teenaged girl and a loud man, where you don't even play as the titular lawyer except for the very first and very last cases.

I want to play Quake 2 through again, but this time with the music looping (the music doesn't loop on Windows Vista or 7). It turns out, the only way that I can play with the music functioning properly is to use a source port with obnoxious 2grafix4u particles, filters, bloom etc. most of which can't be turned off. And the source port crashes a LOT.

There's more than one source port.
