I was referring to the well-documented phenomenon of mother hamsters consuming their own young.

I learned that when I raised tadpoles and they ate each-other. That said I never really understood the whole getting your kid's pet to mate and have little furry bairns thing, it's good in some ways to teach kids about attachment but I wouldn't have been able to cope as a little boy. I'd have wanted to keep all of them.

I dunno. I learned a lot about ~~the birds and the bees~~ from letting our pet cat out against orders at the age of 5.

It bothers me how much violence that page has. Hamsters are not to be messed with. And here I had been raised only with the knowledge that they have a fondness for eating wires.

I once saw 2 ferals getting it on when I was younger.

Yeah... bugger hamsters. Small, smelly, and if they manage to breed there's freaking craploads of them. And then some get out and you find the mutated corpse of their spawn years later in the back of the closet.

My experiences with hamsters have been unpleasant.

My brothers wedding was today.

Guess who was invited? My aunt, her ex (her +1 so he wasn't "invited" per se), the wifes parents and sister, plus 15 some-odd other people.

Guess who wasn't invite? Myself, and his/mine mother.

I mean, not that I would have liked to go myself, but Jesus Christ you don't even invite your mother?

The woman has been torn up about this all day and if he dares lie about when it was or who was invited, not only is she going to keep him from coming into the house any more (at least until he stops lying, she says, but like that'll ever happen) but I'm gonna fucking disown him as a brother.

Background: He has maintained to her that it was just gonna be an informal "Get the benefits" wedding with him/her and two witnesses for MONTHS. It was only recently that we learned they were even contemplating having other people come and make it a semi-formal affair.

He invites his aunt and her mother but doesn't even invite his own fucking immediate family.

Hitmen are cheaper than you'd think, you know?

I should stop advocating murder as a one-size-fits-all solution.

Yeah, it's more of a makes-all-fit-one-size solution.

but then, employing one might be a good idea in this scenario.

I suppose the only consolation is that, if he's that much of a dick to his immediate family, that marriage is going to fall apart. I'll give it five years, tops. If she's a nice girl, she'll hopefully figure this out before long and divorce his ass. Marriages often can't survive without the support of the in-laws, so if he's dumb enough to piss off his folks, he deserves whatever comes.

The frightening thing is that she has known him for years. So either she never picked up on his sociopathic tendencies, or she doesn't care.

We need a sitcom about Descan's sociopathic brother and that sociopathic brother's sociopathic wife, raising a happy family of sociopathic children. Fun all around!
Well, except for around them, y'know ;)
