My idea is that the more of a weirdo someone is, the more they know about human nature. It's sort of an observer effect I guess.
* Tiruin , judging by this statement, is an extreme weirdo. As stated by others.
Mhmm. Sure.
I meant "weirdo" more as in being different. The thing is, it seems to be a trend that the people who have edge over others in what they do tend to be rather... eccentric.

They say that there is a fine line between genius and insanity, after all.

I mean, I'm a huge weirdo, but I just stay under the radar because I got conformity and submissiveness beaten into me.
* Tiruin is eccentric then! :))
I wonder why people assume anger when I'm only irritated. ._.

I would basically say, "No." When it comes to actual psychology, anyway. Honestly, the effectiveness of psych research has incredibly little to do with the people doing it so much as it does with the methodology being used. If the process is such that any observer, no matter how involved, can produce accurate results, you are now doing it right. What has happened since Freud's time is methodology has improved. Massively. It does still have a lot of room to improve, and methodological dispersion is still not nearly as pervasive or consistent as it needs to be, but things are much better.

Quote
Freud's theories may not be completely right, but they did pave the way for modern psychology.
In the same way geocentric theory paved the way for heliocentric, maybe (though that is doing a kinda' massive disservice to geocentric theory.). Freud's theories were more or less not so much "not completely right" as "completely wrong", from everything I've seen. Maybe "almost" completely wrong, but... barely. Proving his bullshit as such has progressed the field of psychology quite a bit, but that speaks little of the virtues of Freud's work itself.

Sky really does have it pretty spot on. Freud was a perverted quack. Just a perverted quack at the right point in history.

Been waiting a month for Wolfenstein: New Order and I go to pre-download it several hours ago. I leave it be and come back and see the bar hardly move. Apparently the damn thing is 40.6 gigs and I had 15 gigs left on my laptop. I uninstalled several games and then realized I still needed 4 more gigs. I find that I had junk accidentally recorded, and so I delete it. What happens next is me, already not happy about 40 gigs just to play Wolfenstein, find out that I hacked off 30 gigs just deleting my fraps garbage... Bullocks...

Dark Souls. Sen's Fortress. GRAH!
Do not worry, for this too shall pass.

For a brief moment, I thought 'Dwarf' fortress instead... and wondered about some sorta mod to take DF maps and automatically convert them to a Dark Souls map, complete with enemies, traps, and glorious socks.

The maps... would be so evil...

So, no change?

Finally beat Sen's Fortress, only to arrive in Anor Londo.

FUCK.
THAT.
SHIT.

If Dark Souls used DF maps and then used the enemies in that area except in Dark souls? You'll find no life or drop of mercy in Necrothreat. That, if done any other way then turtling with your initial 7, is no chance in hell are you surviving...

Gah. Fuck you too, sleep. I've recently started an annoying pattern of waking at 6 AM, an hour before I need to get up, falling back asleep and then oversleeping. And today, the reason I woke up at 6 was because I panicked that I overslept, while still sleeping.

I am not aiming this at anybody, but my God the Happy Thread titles lately really make me regret ever posting in it. Every time I see it I just get unreasonably annoyed, and then I don't wanna post whatever happiness I had in the Happy Thread anymore or even read about other people's happiness.

For me it's the perversions.

I just don't think about what they may mean. Unless it's really obvious, in which case I try to ignore it.

I guess I'm the opposite. The implied perversion is the only thing that gets me curious what's going on in there :P
