Bay12 Board Game Day/Night Whatever. Suggest games!
« on: June 16, 2010, 04:00:36 pm »

Taking a cue from the happy thread, let's look toward organizing a board game night!

We'll probably use VASSAL or some other program depending on the game.

Vote for a game, and maybe add your times available, and we'll see what happens.

Strike the board!

A quick, easy get-together could be done with a poker-hosting site. I'm all for poker

If monopoly is available, I'd be on board for that too.

I vote for monopoly because I've never actually played a game of Risk either...

Bay-12 Robo Rally.

Caution: I can be mean.

Thanks to playing against my brothers (and they're pretty darn good, being the board game geeks they are), I've got some practice against skilled players.

I'm up for Monopoly otherwise.

I say Risk.
Or Monopoly. but Monopoly would get hard to play with more than 6 people. there only so many people who can play before you have problems trying to get whole color groups.

I think Monopoly can only handle eight players.  At least they only put eight pieces in the box.  I don't think Risk can handle more than six people either though; there's only a few colors, but I guess you could theoretically have as many (starting) players as territories if you wanted.

Since Poker is always quick and easy anyway, I'm also totally on board for Poker.  It's time some of you played Texas Hold'em with real Texans.

I've played Texas Hold'em like once in Florida, so I think I'm ready.

I can't pass this thread by in good conscience without suggestion Arkham Horror. It's a joy to play.

A quick Google search shows that Fantasy Flight Games has apparently cracked down on any attempts to bring Arkham Horror in to VASSAL. My apologies for getting your hopes up. :(

I'm up for whatever game ends up being picked until further notice. I can't guarantee being any good though.
