*Ahem* Well, if you say so. I'll have to do a little wikipedia research on the special first, though, and the effects of it.
Let me guess, it's a gas?

Unknown to most but the insane and the mystics, Tarran is actually Earth itself, as Earth is sentient like that planet in Avatar. Originally Earth used names such as Terra on the internet, but to protect it's identity it changed letters, now becoming the Tarran you know today.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

A gas? No, that's quite far from it. However, it will make things very.. 'fun', if you ask me.  ;D

Sorry for the double post, but what is electromagnetics? What would happen if a electromagnetic storm happened?

Aren't they somehow related to atmospherelessness?

I know there's an electromagnetic field surrounding Earth that stops radioactive particles from the sun, but that's about it.

"electromagnetics" is kind of vague, does it say anything more specific?

You really can both sig it.
But... That would break the laws of sigging! We can't have everyone running around with the same quotes. IT MAKES THEM UNFUNNY FASTER!

I'll throw this in, but since the people wouldn't know this, you can now not change you're destination[Sorry guys]
Electromagnetic storms, at the very least I'm going to include communication losses [Ie. Having an extra cost for EM shielding on units and bases which allows to move units while a EM storm is happening, while a EM storm is happening and you don't have EM shielding you can't move units/issue orders.]

Gaaahhh, Electromagnetic storms...

Well, we could always settle on the moon and use the planet's large magnetic field as protection... Right?

Still, electromagneticism can be used to ANYONE's advantage. Ie. [And this would be for late game] Channeling Electro..Magnets? Into a sort of orbital cannon and using it as a defence[AKA killing the enemy with high-intensity bursts of radiation  :o] Or Using it as an electricity source, etc. and so on.

Alright, putting a poll up to vote on whether to settle on Alpha Centauri IV's planet or moon.

Alright, since it's pretty much decided we're going to be settling on Alpha Centauri IV's Moon. Post coming up in a few.

((Pretend the Civilization section isn't there, I can't really change it but yall are definitely not a aristocracy or at the interplanetary age yet, just the space age since not all of the tech could be carried on the ships))
"Establishing orbit, sir."
"Good, Tom. How are the scanners going, Lt. Gagarin?" You say,
"Well and fine sir, we should have a full scan up within the hour, sir."
"Good, we'll want to know the most we can about this planet."
You nod, and after about 10 minutes, the red emergency-lights start flashing and the AI comes online.
"Intense radiation levels detected, imminent engine failure in T-minus 120 seconds."
"Helm! Take us down to the planet! NOW!"
"Yes Sir!"
The heat shields flash red, and as you're pilot overflanks you throw-up in the waste bin and pass out...

You wake up in medbay and the doctor nods, "He's awake!"
"Good, get him on his feet and tell him to come to the bridge please, we need him there."
After all the regular sickbay stuff, you head into the bridge.
"Sir," The XO says as he hands you a report and you start looking over it, "We encountered very heavy radiation upon entering the planet's orbit. It seems this planet has.. Electromagnetic storms, and heavy radiation. It is, however, a surprising candidate for terraformation to a basic degree at least. A lot of microbes and a few fungi-heavy areas, you wouldn't think it by looking at it from orbit but from looking at the history books, Sci-ward says it's in an early stage identical to Earth in it's early stages."
You're response?

Not exactly what I expected. Oh well, let's get to it!

Well, let's get to it!

The first thing we should concentrate on is building a colony, then removing the atmospheric toxins (sulfuric acid). While at the same time building some Biospheres to preserve some of the native life.
