Dwarves moving faster?

I'm sure I saw this was possible a while back. How do you do it?

Open the objects/raws/creature_standard.txt file. There should be a big ol' wall of text (most of which is encased in [] brackets) entitled [CREATURE:DWARF]. Scroll down to the bottom of that wall of text, and add [SPEED:0], or anywhere is fine really as long as it's after dwarves and before elves, and not inside other [] tags.

If [SPEED:0] is too fast for you, the default is 900 and lower is faster, so you can tweak as needed. Before taking into account speed bonuses and penalties, creatures move one tile every (n/100)+1 turns, where n is the number after SPEED.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

SPEED:0 not only moves up the speed at which they move, but also the speed at which they perform tasks.

It also effects their combat speed, so a SPEED:0 dwarf will attack hundreds of times per second.

Or ten times as fast as a normal dwarf, anyway.
