Presentation Arc discussion

Ixoran:
I've heard it was supposed to be after the army arc. can anyone confirm this?So I'll start. I'm not sure if   quote:
-Bloat368, GENDER-BASED PICTURES, (Future): You should be able to further specify which graphical tiles are used if you like.
should really be a bloat. I'd like it to be a req.An interesting bloat I could think of is allow multiple tiles to be used for one thing. IE
say you have five different looking goblin pictures, when the game needs a goblin, it picks one of the five you define. maybe add some weight to the randomness too. It could keep tilesets from getting repetitive.I posted all the reqs and bloats and cores for easier discussion
PRESENTATION ARC: A cleaner interface and more interface and display options will make the game more accessible. Better support for translations.Related to Core21, Core50, Core51, Core52, Req37, Req43, Req79, Req142, Req152, Req179, Req180, Req207, Req218, Req258, Req306, Req314, Req320, Req328, Req332, Req338, Req381, Req382, Req383, Req386, Req387, Req388, Req390, Req401, Req402, Req411, Req421, Req430, Req432, Req434, Req443, Req460, Req483, Req513, Req520, Req531, Req546, Req547, Req548, Req550, Req556, Req558, Req559, Req560, Req564, Req566, Req570, Req585, Bloat52, Bloat106, Bloat107, Bloat108, Bloat118, Bloat153, Bloat199, Bloat268, Bloat303, Bloat307, Bloat311, Bloat354, Bloat355, Bloat358, Bloat361, Bloat364, Bloat368 and Bloat379.-CORE

-Req314, LEGEND DISPLAY PROBLEM, (Future): Long history names busted -- it should instead place it on two lines if possible.
-Req320, NAMING ISSUE, (Future): There's an issue with some unit names
-Req328, NAMING ISSUE, (Future): Issue with some unit names.
-Req332, SHORT JOB NAMES, (Future): In certain contexts, it should display shorter job names. When making glass objects for instance, you can't tell what you are making if you don't have the menus tabbed out.

Willfor:
Toady actually said recently in the Future of the Fortress thread that he would be trying not to tie himself to any arc, because he doesn't want to be working on any individual things for a huge portion of time. (looking at his trials on roads and such in the current arc, I don't blame him)He has however said that after army arc is finished, he will be working on some graphical things, and tutorials to improve people's chances of sticking with the game.

Ixoran:
That makes a whole lot of sense.
I would just like to get a shinier UI and and some tiles out of these "graphical things"  :D

Align:
please add some line breaks to that CODE segmentEDIT: Thank you.
Um. What is there to discuss? I guess more mouse support would be nice, too.[ June 02, 2008: Message edited by: Align ]
