dwarf's wisdom tooth makes an epic defence roll
« on: June 22, 2010, 06:40:56 am »

An ambush happened. During the fighting, one of the dwarves decided to start hauling one of the goblins' corpses back to the refuse heap. I forbade the corpse, but instead of running away, he stood there in sight and attack range of the marksgoblins. One takes a shot straight at him, and of course it was an accurate shot. I look at his wounds after he got hit, and his only wound was a greyed out upper left back tooth. No blood, no pain, no bad thoughts. Just a missing tooth, which apparently he spat out on the ground after this feat. Had that molar not been hit, the throat or brain were next in line. Oh, and the arrow is missing, which I figure means either the tooth destroyed it or the dwarf was just really hungry.

Before you know it, someone's gonna suggest armor made out of teeth.

I think we need armor made out of teeth.

Holy schist, this thread is mica me sick.
DF Players never truly leave.  They just abandon the fortress for a few years and then reclaim.

He freekin grabbed the arrow out of the air with his freekin teeth. Was the tooth knocked out? If not try and get him some medical attention, I would love to know if they put splints on damaged teeth.

No, the tooth just fell out, and no medical attention was required. He went on like he didn't even feel it. Makes me think he was using *steel false teeth*.

That should be the official response to: "What is Dwarf Fortress about?"

Stove is awesome now.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

I can happily admit that this comic was the winner of my "Best Laugh Today" award :3

I just realised, that comic is kind of accurate too. The goblins were getting hacked apart by axedwarves (the corpse having only an upper body) and the bolt was made of silver (greyish color).
