After fiddling a bit i found what to search, well i hope it will be the same for you guys.

Myself for the .16 version.

Fire up Hexedit 1.03 or similar program.
Open the DF executable with it.
Search for this patern
24 14 07 00 00 00 eb 08

Search again ( its the second result wich start a new line by 24 14 at the adress 4d3cb0 )
Change 07 to whatever.

I hope it help

that was a luky dwarf. I had one dabbling surgeon fail so spectacularly that the patient skull flew a tile away from the table.

DF doesn't mold players into its image - DF merely selects those who were always ready for DF.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

what about the hex value for the number of skill points a dwarf gets? i know you can change this with tsearch or artmoney, but being able to load the game with larger number of skill points would be awesome.

Do you mean being able to assign more than level 5 (Proficient) in a skill to a dwarf?

Only thing the program cannot do is embark with LESS than 7 dorfs, so no hermit challenges.
What if you embark with 1 dwarf and 6 other custom creatures that are designed to die on embark? homeotherm or something like that? Like for intance call this being a fluff:
Dwarf McHermit
fluff1
fluff2
fluff3
fluff4
fluff5
fluff6
When the game starts then all 6 die and you get your hermit challenge! right?

Failing that, you could Runesmith out the other dwarves.

Just posting that new program has the same functionality as friendship enchancer AND simpler "just set the count" option. See signature.

If you follow jocan2003's instructions, they work with the latest version. I've tested it myself and embarked with 112 dwarves for testing purposes. I'll also be releasing an update to Hippo Pack that includes pre-modified executables for 14, 28, 56, 112, and 224 dwarves at embark.
