I envy you, Orange. When you first started Cloud Scream, you didn't even have object oriented code iirc. All in one source file, code all mixed together and stuff. I'm pretty sure that was you. And in such short time you've developed into a codeguru almost. Like, I can't even dream of actually sitting down to code this stuff (I've been trying to motivate myself to learn how to work with SDL in c++ for almost a year and a half, but haven't even started the basics).

You've got more in around a week than I have in a year and a half! This project is going to be wonderful! I wish you luck, and maybe one day I too can program an actual game, instead of only programming school projects!

If I can stumble upon a method of achieving such things, anyone can.
When you get the time, you should get in touch with me,
 and perhaps start on a programming voyage of your own.

Please note that this new project is very very basic.
There is hardly anything special going on in the code either.

I've developed a process for crafting new areas quickly.
I've added a few more screen-areas, and they are loaded and displayed as you walk into the edge of the screen.

There is no graphical transition currently, so they just change instantly and the player is transported to the opposite edge.
I'm surprised with how quickly background and foreground images are loaded and displayed.
There is no lag at all so far, even with two 800x600 images being loaded into memory during every screen transition.

I suppose I'll have to make some fancy screen shift deal like in Zelda and An Untitled Story.

This show is officially on the road.

This one demos the screen-area loading:

Platform Explorer Demo C

Try the left and top edges of the screen.
Notice the pretty label for each area.

Once fancy transitions are in, that top edge will be less evil and flickery.

I hope the frame rates aren't too ridiculous for you valuable demo triers.

No offence, but I'm not very impressed. I can only hope 95% of the time has been behind the scenes architecture stuff, because I have literally done better than this out of boredom in assembly.

Do show us this amazing thing you have done in assembly. After all, you have no place to stand and criticise if you're not at least going to pony up and let us see for ourselves how much better you've done. :)
