Is there a way to hide soundsense while it is running ?

Minimize the window?

More like moving it to tray or making it work in background

Hey - what's the best way of giving feedback to the people who make the sound packs?

In particular, I think that the production soundpack's default work order completion sounds are too loud, too long (6 seconds for one of them!) and too annoying. This is basically because the new work order manager means many many work orders will complete often in a fully-automated fortress. It was probably fine before the manager had repeating orders, but I don't think it works any longer.

I made a few modifications to mine that I prefer:
1) Changed to a shorter sound (I used #26875 from freesound.org)
2) Changed the timeout to be quite long (4 seconds) since I get work order completions so often I won't check every single time anyway
3) Adjusted the volume how I liked it

And I'd like to recommend to the creator of the pack that some similar changes be made for all users. I just don't know how to go about doing that. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Thanks

Whenever I try to start Soundsense, just a little black console pops up for a fracture of a second and then vanishes agein, apart from that nothing happens.

When I last played DF like ~2 years ago (Masterwork Mod) everything worked out fine.
Somedays ago I downloaded the newest version (43.03)and said issue happens, after that I tried it with the older version, I experienced exactly the same problem.

Same results when I try to start it from the MW launcher as when I simply click on the exe.

As far as I know nothing special changed on my PC.

Can please anyone help me with this?

Windows_key+r
type "cmd", press enter
type "cd ", then drag and drop your soundsense folder onto the console window, press enter
type "soundSense.exe", press enter

Check what error messages show up.

thanks for the quick answer!

it says:
"Launch4J: The registry refers to a nonexistent java runtime environment installation or the runtime is corrupt.

The system cannot find the file specified"

Apparently my antivirus updated java runtime environment some days ago   ??? ::)

Unable to unmap shared space.

unable to use shared archive
i was able to run it once, then next time this error popped up for a split second. i then deleted it and reinstalled the soundsense files. again, worked once then the exact same message occurred

Are you guys looking for more sound samples and potential voice acting? If you are I'd be happy to help. I'm a professional voice actor by trade and wouldn't mind helping out a little here and there with Sound Sense.

Is there a way to update soundsense to work with the latest java, so I don't have to revert the program?

Try SoundCense, but I guess that's also a bit of work

If you are taking suggestions, it would be nice to have a separate volume meter for music and everything else.
